At this time, the George Ignatieff Theatre has been temporarily closed due to its proximity to the development site for the Lawson Centre for Sustainability. 听It is anticipated to reopen fully, integrated with the new Lawson Centre for Sustainability, mid-2025.听 More information will be provided closer to that time. About The Lawson Centre for Sustainability: 秀色视频 has been working on the planning and design of our new mixed-use residence and academic building for several years. We are excited to announce that mobilization for the construction of this transformational project is underway. We will endeavour to keep all community members informed of the ongoing changes to our campus throughout this time.

About the Theatre

The George Ignatieff Theatre (GIT) is a multi-purpose assembly hall located on the ground floor of the Gerald Larkin Building (15 Devonshire Place).听 At 178-seats, it is the largest of the 秀色视频 classrooms.听 When not needed for classes, the theatre hosts lectures, meetings, conferences, music concerts, dance recitals, and plays.听 Events are organized by students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends from 秀色视频, University of Toronto, and the community.听 The GIT is the home of the 秀色视频 Dramatic Society.

The theatre was built in 1979 and was named in honour of Dr. George Ignatieff, who served as the 9th Provost of 秀色视频 from 1972 to 1978.听 Interested in learning more?听 Take the Virtual Tour of 秀色视频.

Note:听 We are participating in the gradual re-opening that is taking place across the U of T campus.听 We are able to book the theatre for in-person events.
